Bespoke Commission Terms
Each bespoke commission is individually designed and developed in our studio following a personal consultation. The following terms form part of your commission agreement.
Consultation & Design Approval
Commissions begin with a consultation to determine design direction, materials, event date, timeframe, and investment. A written summary is provided for approval prior to production.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate measurements, event details, and timelines.
Once design approval has been confirmed and production has commenced, significant alterations may require revised pricing and timeline confirmation.
Payment Structure
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve studio time and initiate sourcing and production. Work will not commence until the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to delivery or collection.
Production & Lead Time
Bespoke commissions typically require a 6–8 week production window. Timelines are approximate and may vary depending on material availability, sourcing requirements, and design complexity.
Studio availability becomes more limited during peak periods, and early reservation is advised to ensure comfortable production time.
Cancellations & Refunds
As each commission is individually made to order, deposits are non-refundable once production has commenced.
Due to the personalised nature of bespoke work, returns, exchanges, or refunds are not possible once production has commenced, except in the unlikely event of a confirmed fault.
If a commission is cancelled after substantial work has been undertaken, additional charges may apply to cover materials and labour completed.
Fittings
Where applicable, one in-person fitting is included, typically 2–3 weeks prior to completion.
Following fitting approval, the piece is finalised and prepared for collection or delivery.
Remote clients will receive virtual refinement and progress updates where appropriate.
Delivery & Risk
All pieces are carefully packaged for collection or insured delivery. Responsibility and risk transfer to the client upon collection or confirmed delivery.
Care & Handling
Care guidance will be provided with your finished piece. Raven Millinery is not responsible for damage resulting from improper storage, mishandling, alteration by third parties, or exposure to adverse weather conditions after collection or delivery.
Intellectual Property & Photography
All designs remain the intellectual property of Raven Millinery and may not be replicated, reproduced, or commercially distributed without written permission.
Raven Millinery reserves the right to photograph completed commissions for portfolio, editorial, and promotional use unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to completion.
